Research Interest

Dengue virus infects approximately 400 million people each year. There is an urgent need to develop safe and effective dengue therapeutics and vaccine as there is currently no licensed antiviral or vaccines. We are also extend our research interest to tackle Zika virus infection

The research in our laboratory focuses on elucidating the structural changes of dengue/Zika virus during its life-cycle and the mechanism of neutralization by human antibodies and other molecules. This in the long term will aid in the design and development of vaccines and therapeutics. Our laboratory mainly uses a combination of molecular, immunological, biochemical and structural analysis techniques (x ray crystallography and cryoEM image reconstruction techniques).
